One way ashore, a thousand channels
Sawa House March 20th 2025
Inspired by Édouard Glissant’s Poetics of Relation, “One Way Ashore, A Thousand Channels” brings together six artists working across diverse mediums, each extending the conversation on relationality through an intimate and sensational journey inward—unearthing stories through creolization, diasporic retrieval, political unjust and explorations of sensuality as ancestral living manifestations. Rather than constructing selfhood in defiance of dominant hegemony, the exhibition embraces bewilderment, drawing from the richness of cultural knowledge. Within the vastness of the uncharted, the artists are best equipped to ask essential questions of agency, existence, and what it means to live with integrity.
